This last week was so much fun because I got to go with some fellow ambassadors to the Propel Ohio Summit as a representative for UCBA. At the summit we learned about child poverty and heard from people who are working on improving the issue. I had the opportunity to hear from a woman working with the state on the heroin epidemic and talk to her about what I can do to help mental illness in young children. It was an honor to be there and hear from Senator Brown (I also got a picture with him) along with some other incredible speakers like Mary Wright Edelman.
As for class last week I got to learn about torture in my Human Rights class which was really interesting to hear about and learn how the US has made torture sound more okay to its citizens.
Finally, I apologize for missing the blog for two weeks ago things got so hectic since I was in a second car accident that I forgot about it. I didn't have any events and learned about different correctional populations in my Corrections class.
